Our History
Hands On Education Consultants (Hands On) was founded by Cameron Allen who has held many senior international office posts within UK universities. He had a vision to provide the highest level of customer service to Thai students and support their student journey to the UK. Hands On was established in 2005 with a staff headcount of five, these like-minded individuals were determined to differentiate Hands On from other agencies in Thailand and exemplify professionalism, expertise, knowledge, integrity and a friendly approach to student recruitment. At that time, we represented only 12 universities across the UK with our first 3 representative agreements with Queen Mary University of London, University of East Anglia and University of Salford. In our first year we supported and recruited 17 students.
In 2014, Hands On formed a business alliance with Hamilton International which resulted in the expansion of our presence in Bangkok and the ability to leverage from Hamilton’s long history as a respected agency who shared our commitment to service excellence. Together we formed Hands On and became one of the most successful and trusted education agencies for students within Thailand and beyond.
In 2016, we expanded into recruiting students to the US and Canada and in 2020 to Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
In 2019 we partnered with Education Tower alongside our sister agency BEO in Japan. This restructure has meant that we can streamline our contracts and operations and also enabled us to expand into other territories to fulfil our goal of being a premier global multi-destination agency.
In 2021, we are proud to introduce our 4 new cloud offices which are delivering the same exceptional service standard to our students.
The Present
With over 15 years of experience, Hands On has successfully helped more than 8,000 students study overseas. Our dedicated team of counsellors have all studied overseas and many hold graduate level qualifications. Our service is free of charge and we provide many additional services beyond supporting student applications such as English language, accommodation, flight and travel insurance options.
We officially represent more than 300 institutions in the UK, Ireland, America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore as well as 50 language schools. We have a long and fruitful history with many universities and institutions and we sincerely believe in active partnerships where there is a strong exchange of information, regular updates and visits. In addition, Hands On also provides consultant service for students interested in studying abroad in US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore as there has been a strong demand in these destinations.
We care about our students and work hard to provide an enjoyable experience both before and after their studies. We organise many activities and events to help students get ready for their studies including interviews with university representatives, pre-departure briefings, networking activities and alumni events.
