Before the University of Bristol, there was University College, Bristol. University College, Bristol existed from 1876 to 1909 and was the precursor to the University of Bristol. The University was founded in 1876 as University College, Bristol. It was the first higher education institution in England to admit women on an equal basis to men.

Bristol is one of the most popular and successful universities in the UK and was ranked within the top 5% of universities in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2019.



The university is located in the largest city in the South West, Bristol. It is 90 minutes by train from London.
