English seminar and testing day at Hands On Silom Office
UWE Bristol is one of the UK’s largest universities with around 30,000 students studying a range of courses such as Business, Law, Media and Journalism, Computer Science, Engineering and Technology. UWE Bristol understands that the world is changing fast and we are passionate about embracing new opportunities and taking the lead.
We are dedicated to providing students with a first-class learning experience, reinforced by a £220m investment providing state-of-the-art facilities and services, such as the £50m Business and Law building and a brand new Students’ Union. We have 60 computer rooms and a large library which is open 24/7. Overall 86 per cent of students are satisfied with the quality of their programme (Student Experience Survey 2014).
We will help you realise your full potential and give you all the support you need to kick start your career. We provide real-world experiences and opportunities which have resulted in our excellent achievement of 95 per cent of graduates being in work or further study six months after graduating (DLHE 2015). We already have a very strong network of connections with employers for you to utilise and these are growing all the time.
Bristol is a thriving economic and creative city – it’s an ideal place to live and study, with a rich history, vibrant culture and nearby countryside and coast. It is a top retail destination, with its great selection of independent shops, cafes, and restaurants, and it has the advantage of being only a 90 minute train ride to London. Bristol has been voted the best city to live in the UK by The Sunday Times 2014.
“UWE Bristol offered me a remarkable academic experience, environment and friends. It’s a good university with a quality Business School.” – Pak
English Language Test
The day will start with a University Preparation Programme which will look at the many benefits of studying in the UK and what you can expect.
There will then be a fun and interactive teaching session lasting around 90 minutes during which you will be able to practise your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.
You will then have the opportunity to attempt the UWE Bristol English Language assessment in all four components (reading, writing, speaking and listening). If you achieve a 6.5 or above IELTS equivalent in the test you will be eligible to join UWE Bristol on a postgraduate programme as long as all other aspects of your application meet our requirements.
During the day you will also be offered counselling to help you make your application to UWE Bristol and conditional offers will be made on the day, if appropriate.
